Reinvent-tage Retreat Day 11

Today's Intention...Paint with Passion...

For years my business signature has been - Paint with Passion!...in my book, "Do What You Love, Love What You Do," passion is the prevailing theme that runs throughout...without passion a person can not succeed for the long term...

What do you see in the above photo?...I see a life-time supply of dry pigment to create a beautiful terra cotta colored paint...it is my passion that caused me to collect several bags full of this beautiful earth when I was in North Carolina in August...it is also my passion that lead this pile of earth to inspire me to create a class about paint making with natural sources...

I advise the artists I counsel to discover their passion and follow it with wild abandon...surrender to the power of their passion...without expectations or the need to please others...

My favorite artists, the impressionists, had not much more than passion when they began...that passion compelled them to create art, prolifically...in spite of rejection, criticism, and great financial hardships...the impressionists found inspiration and strength in the power of ceaseless, passionate painting...they painted every day and most became masters...

It is my passion to create that will carry me through rejection, criticism, and financial hardships...I do not need to concern myself with the opinion of others about my work...I can paint boldly and with confidence...listening only to my inner wisdom and divine guidance...I need to take my own advice, and make art...as much art as I can...as often as I can...until...

See post here for your invitation to join the Reinvent-tage Retreat...and to see how the process works...

Oh my goodness how behind I am here...I did not want any more time to go by so I'm stopping to leave a little love on your doorstep. I will have to take some time to catch up on all your wisdom!

So so true!!! I know that when my life feels a bit off kilter, it is always (but thankfully not too often) because "duty", work etc. have pushed my passion aside. Honoring my passion back to the centre of my life is always followed by flow, harmony, deep connection and joy. There is no other good way to live, is there? Passion is the sugar, salt and spice of life.

The class about paint making with natural sources sound fascinating. I'd love to be able to explore this with you.

I love passion. Not just the love kind (but that's really the best isn't it?) But, passion in cooking, parenting, art, blogging. Without passion life is like stale white bread.

Love,
Julie

I've heard (read) Paris Breakfasts talk about these natural pigments. I guess it is kind of like how basket makers use these dyes for their reeds.

A lovely post and your art is so beautiful.

Our minds cannot be in control of worries of other's influences when we create. Our heart leads our spirit, our spirit leads our minds.

Your blog is beautiful Rebecca!!

I love the color of that "earth"! I don't think I would've seen it as pigment though. My mind would've gone right past that... probably to, "don't let the kids run in it" =) Blessings... Polly (p.s. Your angel in the last post is beautiful. Oh, and I think you're right - just do your art everyday and that is indeed how the masters became masters. The same is true with our ability to understand the Bible.)

What a lot of good things - passion, natural art sources, piles of earth in one's front yard... (I happen to have a pile of manure waiting to be spread in my beds as I prep them for winter. To me, it is a beautiful thing! My husband has other thoughts about it... :-)

Oh I can truly identify with your last paragraph, in particular. We have to listen to our hearts to accomplish anything and tune out the naysayers - most of whom are either jealous or poorly-informed. :) Hope you have a great weekend ahead! Yes, keep painting your passion! xo
