Reinvent-tage Day 2 - Part 2

Today's Intention - To remain open to every possibility that presents itself to me?

I just had to show you my muse today...Sir Chancelot is the cutest puppy ever...

this is how small he is...by a stud finder to his left...

Down to business... today is a rainy, nor-easter kind of day on my little island...

I began with a textured background glazed with pink metallic...

affixed strips of paper with soft gel & washed pink metallic with quin. nickle azo gold (MdM's favorite)...I was going to do a collage mixed media piece when I began...the figure just appeared...so being open to possibility...I allowed myself to go with it...

blocked background with green/blue/
umber...
continued to build figure and background...at his point I decided to eliminate the right arm extension...and her right arm moved behind her...serendipity or skill???

finished piece "Looking Back into the Darkness"

This painting just took shape...I allowed it to happen...remaining open to possibility...many possibilities presented themselves while I was painting...I stayed with them until they led me where this painting was supposed to go...I have no question that it is finished...

The figure is looking back into the darkness of what she is leaving behind...as she heads toward the light...she will never look back again...she is growing into herself an her destiny...becoming stronger and more brave with each step...her steps are sure...her path is glowing brightly for her to follow...she remains open to possibility...

Being open is working well for you!!
[this is a time of transition for me too....but I am dealing with an aging mother and the impending birth of a grandson...so my time for art (except making baby quilts) is limited....but that may not stop me, LOL. I will try to stay open but not making any promises!]

Oh Sir Chancelot is making me so weak. I adore him….having had dogs for over 30 years and without for one year….this makes me miss them even more. My daughter would love you for flaunting this guy at me. I so love dogs!!!! Not the work that can go with them though! Years of it, one of my oldest ones was 18 when he passed. The last guy was my favorite, a naughty Bichon named Rox! This house truly misses his spunk!

I love your lady too, she is a smart woman not to look back! A beautiful piece of art, with wonderful colors, texture and mood! Good job!

Peace Sherrie

I kept rereading this post, because I got distracted by how cute your puppy is.. The art is an amazing transformation to light and dark..

Sir Chancelot is too cute. How nice it was to meet you at the ball last week. I came by for a visit. Thank you for sharing the process of your painting. I needed to see that tonight.

I came to catch up. Actually, I didn't know I was behind. I started at the beginning of this endevor and I wanted to stop and tell you on the first one that you will know when it is finished. If you question it...it is not. Then I thought she will discover this, I don't need to tell her. And here today...you discovered it. Isn't it a magical feeling. But what you have discovered is that you may conciously have a plan and expectation of the outcome. But when you give your muse permission to take over and forget about the expectation and the plan, it will flow from you before your very eyes. Like magic. To me, that is ART.
She is wonderful...looking back.

just beautiful...she seems so calm, as to be looking back in relief...or maybe remembering why she has chosen to live in the new light...the dark being her gentle reminder! the colors are soothing in spite of the concept of dark...so gentle
