Reflections on the Reinvent-tage Retreat...
Today, I think I finally get it...what this journey is all about...
Metaphorically speaking...I was standing at the edge of a big, dense and tangled forest full of scary stuff...yes, this is a Florida forest...
and I was not so very thrilled about the prospect of entering said forest with my little flashlight and a sweatshirt in case it gets cold...sure I know it’s gonna get cold...and I know as I make my way through the brush...that the tasks ahead merely comprise only tiny leg one of a loooooong journey... a journey I have successfully managed to avoid...by taking dozens of side trips for almost 55 years...
It was hard to shake that uneasy, nauseating feeling...as I took that first step...into the thick underbrush...
Looking up at the towering trees...I did a fair amount of stumbling and bumbling and falling...
at times I could barely see the sky...but I stayed on the path...
and finished the Reinvent-tage Retreat...it was not always easy...but the commitment to my blog readers kept me going...and held me accountable...
This was just one part of my journey...the reinvention process is an ongoing life journey...as I discover my visual voice...I am going to be doing a lot of stumbling and falling in the future...as I trip over unknown things in my forest...
I also know that all this is necessary for my growth...as I progress forward on this looooong journey called life...and art...
And maybe, just maybe...I may be beginning to see the light through the trees...
Tomorrow I will share my gallery opening...

And the forest is such an important part of the process. Keep on the path, Rebecca!:)
i cannot wait to see your gallery opening...& i took one of your photos (the grapes clinging to a wall) & wrote some words for you!
Dear Rebecca,
It's beautiful the way you used the photos of the forrest to your relay you feelings.
It seems that all of the best stuff that happens comes out of risk taking many, many times. Then one day it happens, the thing your heart desires, and you're ready and prepared for it and know how to appreciate it. Thank you for the reminder!
Another thought. The best part is taking the journey! Don't you think? It gives life structure and purpose!
Great photos!!
