Right now, I'm gaining wings in a whole new way as my circumstances are hard and I'm learning to trust God in ways I never had before. I'm gaining my wings and strengthening them with a beautiful community of people around me who love and encourage me and I am choosing to believe what they say about me and about God. I'm also choosing to believe what God says about me and about Himself. My wings are spreading slowly by faith as I continue to walk in the midst of fear but refusing to allow it to paralyze me in life any longer. I'm becoming who I was always meant to be!
Beautiful paintings! I'm honored to be included in your drawing!
You know Rebecca I haven't built all my wings yet, but I definitely have feathers that reach to my elbows.
How I built my wings: I have built my wings step by step by step. I have built them from reading and learning, from compassion and caring, and mostly from the love for and from my family.
Love Renee xoxo
Like so many others, I found my wings clipped for a time - but now, through art and writing - on a wing and a prayer - I'm growing my wings back - day by day, one feather at a time...
Lovely wings you have here, Rebecca - happy Blogiversary!
I am finding unexpected flight through photography - and of course, my writing. Lovely art here. Congrats on your three years of blogging! Here's to the next three! xoxox
Happy Blogday!
I am happy to know you, to share your joy, and to witness your creative expression.
Wings... after enduring a sad year, I am starting to feel myself again, and it feels so good, to watch my wings unfold.
I think my wings have been built for me after they were destroyed by my family who loved me even as they destroyed my hopes of art and life. Somehow, just in living it has happened. I don't know how, but I know by whom.
How I grow my wings?
well, it must be by living day by day the way God wants me to live.........
Happy blogiversary.
Hi Rebecca
Congratulations on your three year anniversary.
My wings have been developing all of my life....each experience whether happy or sad encourages them to grow a little more. Maybe one day I will have a full set, but in the meantime am happy for them to continually spread a little more each day.
Kathy
Happy 3rd!
How did I build my wings? Yet not fully developed, and perhaps not until I am called home...it is through obedience. Through hearing and hearing through the Word. Through experiences and how I react to each one. Through prayer and asking to spread them. Through love for this is the greatest of all.
I had a dream many years ago, it is still as fresh today as them, I was learning to fly. At first I was scared, not going to far up, clumsy, flapping crazy. But then one morning I arose, I looked around and I knew.....I took off, soaring, I saw the land I live in, I flew to other lands, I soared as High as I could and when I woke I knew I had soared high above it all.
I have not had a dream like that since, but I remember, He came me the Grace and Ability to Soar, not alone, but always with Him.
Love you,
C
Happy blogiversary.
I have been working on my wings all my life. There have been times when they were nice and strong other times they were wimpy...the trick is to just keep trying.
As my Mom's dad always said, their are many phases in life and each has their own set of challenges. I've survived infertility treatments, cancer, loss of hearing, amongst other things and now the challenge of the art community. It's been a blessing to meet so many other artist with whom I can truly share the joy of creating. Sadly their are others who choose to judge you without knowing you and that creates stress. What I know for sure is that you never give up on your dreams ... do what you love! I've been blessed with 2 beautiful healthy children, an awesome husband, am cancer free, and have the freedom to continue my passion of creating ... LIFE IS GOOD!
So how did I grow my wings? I believe it's an on-going process. Sometimes my wings are broken and others times they soar. It's like Mo said, you just keep trying - never give up! Be it big or small accomplishments, you are still moving forward towards your dream ... hold that thought! Believe in yourself, life is too short not to. Hordbeud! as my swedish grandmother would say ... stay strong!
My wings came from facing adversity and problems straight on. Not always easy, and lots of doubt thrown in along the way, but I became wiser and more confident by facing down the problems, one at a time!

Hi Rebecca, happy three year blogaversary!
I feel like I'm just beginning to build my wings! My daughter will be graduating from HS in December and I feel like it's finally time for me to pursue things that interest me.
It's always nice to hear from you!

Dear Rebecca:With the recent loss of my precious mother there has been a pause in my heart but with my quiet walks to the mountain tops here in the Arizona desert range..my spirit lifts and takes wing. Wishing you a Happy Blogiversary! It is my third year blogging this month too!..the darkness is lifting for us both!
love and light NG xo
I am awakened yet again by acid reflux. I must sit upright when this happens and decided to check the internet. I check the Crafty Chica's blog often and felt compelled to click on one of her commenters, you. Your blog is wonderful and your art awesome. I was touched by your openness and honesty. I find my wings when I write my poetry. Often hearing God speak to me through what I write. It is my therapy, my searching for answers, truths, wings. I have found wings through connecting with others in blogland also. I am so pleased to have been now connected to you. Happy Blogiversary. I mentioned this blog entry on my facebook page and I am now following you. Now I'm off to twitter about you also.
Congrats on the blogversary - and in the finding of your wings! (still feel like I'm searching for mine).
Best wishes.
how did i build my wings? i am not really sure that i have completely. well, no, i know that they are there but currently they are folded up tight against me, afraid to take flight. i am working on finding the courage and resolve to begin again. as to how they were built in the first place? very slowly, step by step, with perseverance, determination and love.
What a beautiful hopeful optimistic post. Love it. Good luck with your wings!
Rebecca, I built my wings by following my heart - trusting my instincts - taking each encounter and relationship for whatever its purpose might be and for however long - and most of all, believing that many things most think are right can be wrong, and many most think are wrong can be right.
i grow my wings
by
flying
far and wide.
sometimes in an airplane
sometimes on dry land
or
in a dream.
:-)
i fly
sometimes very slowly
just above the surface of reality.
still
i give it my best shot
and
fly
Happy blogiversary you generous girl! Those wings are taking you to magical heights!
