open studio event...cloth paper scissors...giveaway...

WELCOME...i tend to create wheresoever i am...but i do have a studio or two...a tour of my art studio (there is also a computer studio)...where Cre8Tiva and i make magic...remember it is a working studio please...first a video and then some stills...giveaway at the bottom of this post...

i'm doing the open studio event with cloth paper scissors...click on photos for closer look...

studio door with music box that plays you are my sunshine...

Early in life I knew I was creative as I would draw, dance, write and sing the day away. I love to experiment and push the limits of the tools and the products creating and exploring with wild abandon. My work has evolved, as has my life, to embrace my love of the human form, nature (especially the ocean) and my spirituality. You will find my work is figurative and whimsical and faces appear in most all my art. My propensity to use texture stems from the roots of my love for decorative painting (commonly called faux finishing).

the bookshelves with my art on top...

dixie doodler purses...

close up of sea soul necklace...

sea soul art...

storage cabinet, fabric rolls...

i collect Rs...

my art table - glass dining table top on 4 rolling cabinets salvaged from a hospital sale...

the storage closet...could you tell it was once a spare bedroom?

now for my computer lab... (a corner of the music room)

my desk area...i often run 2 macs at once for high-end graphic design, web design...

close-up with diet coke...

my drawing table...the violin and ukuleles stand guard...

overflow storage in the garage...the entire garage is wrapped with my art supplies...this is why i am having a huge distress sale...see the link at bottom of this post!!!

my favorite storage piece...an old map chest...for stencils and flat stuff...

i am so glad you had time to spend with me today...leave a comment and scroll down for a look at what goes on here...please come back often to see what's up...

The most precious thing for my space, the most ellusive and fleeting is MORE ROOM.
Where does it go? When will it come back?

Thank you for your comment on my blog and how nice to have a video tour! I have a shell necklace (not painted...) hanging in my kitchen over a seascape photo.

Great to have a studio room like yours. I love the photographs on your blog and the way you interpret them.

May you have many productive and profitable hours here!!!!
[I'm at work, so I have to wait to watch your video then! I'll be back!]

Oh yes, your map chest is a treasure. What great work you do. Love, love, love the purse's. And the sea soul art...wonderful! One thing I would love to have in my room. I am quilter...so I would love - Someone that picks up the broken threads, all around me, on me, and on my floor...I have broken tooo many vaccums sweepers..!! And I can't go nowhere without thread being on me for some reason!

Thank you for such an inspiring and enjoyable tour of your wonderful space! I love your large easel, and of course all of your beautiful artwork!

What do I want most right now for my studio? A professional large format printer!

Thanks for touring my virtual studio -- and for sharing your own. Very fascinating -- and I love your sea soul art.

Your map chest is a dream! My wish is for a printing cabinet... basically the same thing: lots of long shallow drawers. Thank you for the fun tour, your shell art is so beautiful. Happy creations from tj in germany

You sure cram a lot of art into that space! I'm surprised you didn't have a wet sink for paint clean up and such :-)

my studio wish list includes a bookcase with doors -- I'd love to have a little more storage that wasn't too deep, but that had doors to close and keep everything tucked away...

I too think your map chest is awesome. Thanks for the excellent tour or your studio and I enjoyed seeing your beautiful art.

Hello:) Thanks for visiting my studio (jellybeandesigns.org--savannahland)!!! I love looking at other's studios....so this was a great blog challenge!

Hm...let's see...I want so much....but my number one thing would be a chair for my husband. I want him with me--he is great inspiration!!! Along with that...I would like him to have skills in how to glue/cut/etc:)

Thanks again! Hope to visit your site more often! I've put it on the fav's list!
Sincerely,
Savannah O'Gwynn

Your studio seems so roomy Rebecca! It amazes me how much stuff crafters can fit into such small spaces. Also love your map chest. Bit like my chests of drawers, but wish one of mine had drawers as wide as that! Thanks for taking my tour as well.

Thanks for visiting my studio, and for inviting me to see yours. Your map chest is exactly what I was looking for when I settled for my cheapo 'build-it-yourself' Ikea version. Oh well, someday maybe. What do I wish for in my studio? - a lap top and a printer would be good, a sink and running water would be handy, but overall DEFINITELY more time to play. Love your art work, and thanks again for inviting me over x

p.s. oops sorry, on top of my wish list for my studio would have to be more and better storage! Not sure if me being in Australia cuts me out of the giveaway or not?? Would love to be in it though. Your art looks so good.

I wish I had a door to my dye studio.

Beside that I love your tour and you collections of lovely things. Thank you.

a ~Fabulous~ tour Thankyou, i especially ~Love~ your Sea~Souls X:-)

Thank you for the tour. I love visiting artists - even if it is virtually. My wish list could be long but really, all I need is more SPACE! I am a quilter and sewer who loves fabric and it really is all over the house. I cannot keep it organized and when I want something, I spend so much time hunting. Storage would be nice but that really equates to more space.

At the top of my wish list would be my husband. He works full time as a designer and we would both like for him to work at home full time as a freelancer!

Love your studio and the map chest. That is a great piece!

What a wonderful tour and studio! And that map chest is to die for!!!! Thank you for sharing your creative space. It is wonderfully inspiring.

As for the studio item on my wish list-- that would have to be a new sewing table. The two that I have set up now, were only supposed to be temporary. But I am, at very least, quite thankful that I have them at all.

Blessings

So happy to "meet" you through this studio tour! Thanks for dropping by my blog to see my creative space. The one thing I would wish for my studio would be a force field to keep negativity out.

Wonder how I missed visiting your studio the first time around?! Good thing I'm going back to visit some again. I really envy you your map chest...what a treasure to have!
To answer your question (altho' I do know I'm too late for the drawing!)..I would have to say my top wish would be to have a window. My studio is in the basement and has no windows.
Thanks for the tour!
Cheers
