a room of one's own...

what is the importance of having personal space for your creative life...or even your life?

All I could do was to offer you an opinion upon one minor point—a woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction; and that, as you will see, leaves the great problem of the true nature of woman and the true nature of fiction unsolved.
Virginia Woolf A Room of One’s Own

i MUST, absolutely MUST have a space of my own...and i MUST go there often...

do you have a special place set aside, it does not have to be a whole room but just a little nook carved out of your everyday life that is your own...to daydream, write, create, muse?

my studio is a special place...for me to create and no one may enter without asking... (excuse the mess please)

my bedroom is also a special place...for me to pray, relax, unwind, center myself...

my beach, however,  is my favorite special place...

this is my alter area where i stop to offer a blessing every time i pass thru...

my lanai is a place with a fountain to meditate and pray...

tell me about your room of your own...

and please if you like this post and others below, become a follower at upper right...thanks...

I really don't have a particular space of my own, though I've always longed for one. I am spread out throughout the house and often have to hunt in this room or that to find what I am looking for. There is one room capable of being just mine, however, procrastination has gotten in the way. That and a need to find time to sort out a lot of junk. Often I just get into a zone where I am at and for the moment that is my space, my room of my own inside myself.

I love your spaces. I so agree we all need our own special place where we can meditate, pray or just spend time with doing nothing or what we love doing most.

Since we are not in one location, permanently, right now I have learned to be creative in making a place just for me. Since I am an early riser it is sitting outside before daylight with a cup of coffee and just the universe, a time when I spend time talking with the Lord.

I always enjoy a peak into a creative person's home, especially where they create. What do you keep around your altar?

As for me, the second bedroom in our apartment is my art room although we also keep our computer in there and my husband has his mountainbiking stuff stashed in the big closet. BUT it is the place where I like to create, especially on a bright, sunny morning. :)
